The trick is to drive outside traffic to your gigs, don’t just count on internal visitors. I mostly use some signature links on related forums, hubpages, youtube, facebook and article sites.
As a rule I don’t do anything that takes me more than 5 minutes. So things like ebook cover design, simple landing pages, basic graphic design, twitter blasts, article re-writing etc.
